Gulf Traffic Exhibition Strikes Landmark Partnership with Saudi Transport Ministry

The partnership will boost access to KSA’s planned USD14 billion infrastructure and transport spend

Dubai, UAE, 15 October 2018: The Gulf Traffic Exhibition and Conference, which will take place 4-6 of December 2018 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, have, for the first time ever, signed a strategic partnership with the Saudi Transport Ministry (TM) aimed at increasing collaboration between transport suppliers, as well as giving the TM an international platform to promote their extensive list of current and upcoming transport projects.

A key focus on the TM’s transport strategy is the Saudi Vision 2030. Vision 2030 seeks to add no fewer than five new megacities and many smaller developments to the country over the next decade or so, with these large and multifaceted developments designed to have regionally specific industrial focuses like global finance, agribusiness, and religious tourism, and will be connected via new transportation investments like high-speed rail on the west coast and an upgraded central airport in the capital city of Riyadh and the country’s second largest city, Jeddah.

Commenting on the partnership Mr. Turki Al Toaimi, Director General for Marketing and Communications at the Saudi Transport Ministry said: “This partnership comes at an exciting time for us. We have recently announced a series of signed contracts, worth USD453.3 million, to extend 23 roads across the kingdom as part of a plan to upgrade our infrastructure. As we progress with our plan for the private sector to operate much of the kingdom's future transport infrastructure, being part of international platforms, such as Gulf Traffic in Dubai, will give us access to the transport suppliers needed to drive this strategy.”

“We are excited to finally have the Saudi Transport Ministry as our official show partner for Gulf Traffic 2018 The Kingdom’s Ministry officials have a clear objective to source some of the best solutions and technologies in traffic and transportation from around the globe and have chosen Gulf Traffic as the platform to do this. With such a large amount of infrastructure development happening in the Kingdom, this partnership, we believe, will provide some excellent opportunities for the TM, our exhibiting companies and our visiting industry attendees” said Claudia Konieczna, Exhibition Director- Gulf Traffic.

Gulf Parking, which launched for the first-time last year, will again run adjacent to Gulf Traffic, further adding to the brands offering by widening the focus to support other key industry sectors.
