New carriageway opens in Oman

Oman's Roads and Land Transportation department has announced the opening of the third and last part of Salalah-Thamrait dual carriageway project, Oman Daily Observer has reported. The road was designed to allow increasing the speed limit to 80 km from 60 km, and reduced the number of horizontal twists to 6 from 14, the department said. The road is provided with traffic safety means, such as barriers, culverts, discharge canals and double lighting poles, it added.
